PPPDT is discussing a Statement in Support of CMBPOL.
EPIC Mission Concept Study report released. It is available for download. The Experimental Probe of Inflationary Cosmology (EPIC) was a mission concept study funded by NASA and led by Jamie Bock (JPL). It was one of three mission concepts that were designed to extract information from the polarization of the CMB. The EPIC concept will be further studied as part of a new NASA grant that will lead to a report to the decadal panel.
Three workshops are being organized as part of the work toward a report to the decadal panel. A workshop on theory and foregrounds (organized by Scott Dodelson) will take place on June 23-27, 2008 at Fermilab; A workshop on mission templates and systematic effects (organized by Gary Hinshaw and John Ruhl) will take place on July 28-Aug.1, 2008 in the Maryland area; A workshop to discuss the technology readiness of CMBPol (organized by Shaul Hanany and Kent Irwin) will take place on August 25-29, 2008 in Boulder, Colorado.
