Description: An air track and cart are set up on the lecture bench.
The cart has a mass atop if it, which is free to slide between two screws.
The mass is initially placed at the rear of the cart, which is set into
motion. When the cart hits the bumper at one end of the track, it changes
direction. However, the mass continues to move and hits the forward
screw. Compare collisions with the mass free to move and fixed in place.
