Description: A 10 foot PVC pipe has an ID slightly larger than
the diameter of a ping pong ball (the ball fits snuggly). The ball is
placed inside and the ends
are sealed with packing tape. When ready, the tube is pumped down for at
least a minute. The tape at one end is punctured using a screw driver,
causing the ball to be shot out of the other end (with a satisfying bang).
Pop cans are placed in front of the pipe to absorb most of the energy.
Many times, the ball will have sufficient velocity to punch a hole through
one or both cans!
Special Instructions: Wait at least 1 minute (if not longer) for
the tube to pump down.

Setup time: 5 minutes
Safety Issues: Aim the tube AWAY from the class. This demo is
LOUD.
