Induction Coils with Core

PIRA Classification: 5K10.40

Description: A coil of wire is connected to a car battery through a tap switch and a second coil is connected to a galvanometer. A large iron nail is placed inside both coils. When the switch is tapped, a greater deflection is observed then when there was no core.

Special Instructions: Separate the coils by 6 inches before energizing.
